East Asia Forum on Terminology (hereinafter
referred to as EAFTerm) has been established on August 4, 1997
in Beijing. EAFTerm is a non-governmental and non-profit making
academic forum. Individuals or corporate bodies engaged in the
research on terminology and its standardization may participate
in the activities of EAFTerm. The establishment of EAFTerm will
be favorable to terminology research of East Asian languages,
communication of its achievements, dissemination of terminological
knowledge, exploration of modernized terminology management,
promotion of exchange and cooperation among terminologists of
East Asian countries. Hopefully, it will also be helpful to
accelerating harmonization and unification of their terminologies,
and finally making contribution to the social and economic advances
in the region and, the whole world as well. |
